CERT began preparing plans for a potential pandemic in 2006. During the spring and fall of 2009, as the H1N1 virus posed a health threat locally and nationally, CERT issued frequent updates about the spread of the virus, as well as information on prevention and treatment. For information on how the University of Arizona prepared for the H1N1 flu pandemic, and future pandemics, see the UA Pandemic Plan.
